“The wanderer” passes through the Lot!

The V87 ""La vagabonde"" cycle route offers a 10-stage route from Montluçon (Allier) to Montech (Tarn & Garonne). And it passes through the Lot and a few hectometers from our guest room...

Also, we welcome with great pleasure our cyclist guests with or without electric assistance!

We are located on the ""Cahors-Lafrançaise"" stage in the heart of Quercy Blanc. This route presents pretty hilly landscapes and typical white paths.

Come wander and discover our villages: Labastide-Marnhac, L'Hospitalet, Pern and Castelnau-Montratier.

See you soon...

Vegetarian cuisine: not just seeds!

Vegetarian cuisine is much more than seeds, fruits and vegetables.

I offer you a meal from starter to dessert to awaken your taste buds and whet your curiosity. The recipes are simple and delicious.

I use local and seasonal products for a supply of vitamins, fiber and minerals. I always have a base of dried products to prepare my recipes and provide proteins, in particular: pumpkin seeds, sunflower seeds, sesame seeds, dried fruits, flours (chickpeas, lupine, etc.), dried vegetables.

The starter consists of a carrot and orange salad. Assemble beautiful grated organic carrots and the tops cut into pieces of a peeled organic orange. For seasoning, include roasted hazelnuts, pumpkin seeds, raisins, olive oil and cider vinegar, salt and pepper. Fresh parsley, flax seeds and powdered toasted sesame are sprinkled over the salad when serving.

To make my leek tart, I prepare puff pastry (shortcrust or shortcrust pastry is also suitable). I sweat the leeks cut into small sections in a butter and olive oil mixture. I collect the cooking water from the leeks to which I add a level tablespoon of corn flour. Salt and pepper, add a teaspoon of strong mustard. Add everything to the leeks and finish with 10 cl of crème fraîche. Mix thoroughly and garnish your dough. Sprinkle with cashew nuts and bake in an oven at 180°. Serve hot with a salad of lamb's lettuce.

At Val du Pech Chantant; the meal always ends with dessert. The "Christophe" apple and candied chestnut syrup cake combines seasonal fruits and candied chestnut syrup made by Christophe. The recipe is kept secret but some tips may be revealed when you come to our table d'hôtes.

Beautiful vegetarian cuisine for you…

Boisse mill circuit

While waiting for autumn, we will help you discover one of the many hiking trails that Quercy Blanc has to offer.

Departure is from the Boisse mill located 4 km from our guest room. In hot weather like this Sunday October 1st, the route is sometimes shaded but don't forget to bring a hat and bottles of water!

This 14.5 km circuit allows you to discover pleasant paths lined with dry stone walls, small heritage sites (fountains), the St Clément church, the village of Ste Alauzie (a stop near the town hall allows you to refuel with drinking water) and of course the Boisse windmill.

This mill dates from the 17th century and is open to visits by appointment.

Cahors "City of art and history"

Discovering or rediscovering our city of Cahors in the company of a guide-lecturer is a great opportunity to learn more about its history.

The Tourist Office offers guided tours including a guided torchlight tour in July and August.

I tested a visit to the historic center starting from the remains of the Gallo-Roman amphitheater to Saint-Etienne Cathedral. Our guide for the day, Claire, was able to captivate her audience by recounting the history of Cahors in a very lively way and with a lot of humor and by revealing a rich Cahors heritage.

During your stay, I strongly recommend these visits organized by the Tourist Offices. Remember to book!
